Following LAS.I111 (Information Literacy I), this course focuses on developing essential information utilization skills in the learning environment at our university. These include the ability to process and manipulate data, write scientific and technical documents, and effectively present academic knowledge through presentations.
By the end of the course, students will acquire the ability to efficiently and appropriately process and manipulate various types of data, write effective explanatory documents, and acquire practical presentation skills.

Class 1 | Data Processing (1): Analysis and Processing of Experimental Data | Learn how to analyze, process, and organize experimental data through exercises using Excel. Also, learn about attribute representation of collected data and get an overview of data summarization and visualization. |
Class 2 | Data Processing (2): Effective Representation of Experimental Data | Learn about the importance of appropriate data visualization, effective methods for explaining experimental results to others, and the principles of data visualization. |
Class 3 | Data Processing (3): Attribute Representation and Summarization of Experimental Data | Learn about attribute representation, data summarization, and visualization of experimental data through practical exercises. |
Class 4 | Scientific and Technical Writing (1) | Learn about the basic structure of scientific and technical documents, how to write equations, insert figures and diagrams, cross-reference various items, and cite references. Gain expertise in writing scientific and technical documents using the typesetting system LaTeX. |
Class 5 | Scientific and Technical Writing (2) | Experience writing papers using LaTeX. |
Class 6 | Presentation (1): Effective Presentations, Scientific and Technical Communication | Learn about the purpose, methods, and effective presentation techniques for scientific and technical presentations. Additionally, study basic design techniques for slide composition, including layout, color scheme, and accents, as well as preparation methods for slides. |
Class 7 | Presentation (2): Presentation Exercises | Develop practical skills through short-term presentation training. |
To enhance effective learning, the students should refer to the relevant sections of the distributed materials, and spend approximately 100 minutes on both preparation and review (including assignments) for each class session.

Grades will be based on assignments submitted and given during lectures. There will be no final exam.
Must have completed LAS.I111 (Information Literacy I) or have equivalent knowledge.
Please carry your student ID during class. A first-year student should take the class designated by the student division (Kyomu-ka). A non-first-year student should take a class "a" except 2a.
