Globalization has affected our lifestyle in many ways to increase effectiveness on flow of information, goods, and people. On the other hand, globalization has also accerelated many notable problems such as climate change, economic gap and so forth. The world-wide spread of new virus, COVID-19, its causes and countermeasures could be symbolized as sins and rewards of globalization.
As mobility, one of the main driving forces for Globalization, has been remarkably affeced by COVID-19, global education in higher institutions needs to proceed with big transition. Specifically, in order to implement global education under the new paradigm, it is necessary to chage the pedagogy, keeping in mind that one of the higher institutions' missions is to increase global awareness and contribute to students' future career formation.
Aim:
1)Understand higher education system and career plan of selected countries (for 2021 Spring, following countries will be the target: Thailand, France, and United States).
2)Elucidate similalities and differences on study abroad concepts on "digital (on-line learning) " and "real (cross-border activities)"
3)Clarify goals and images of student's own global careers and necessary skills to prepare for the new paradigm. It is assumed that a new paradigm will accompany with rapid dizitalization, no-mobility connection, and innovation through collaboration with people with multicultural background and diverse field of expertise.
Course description:
Students will draw their own future plan which includes study abroad and global career goals before and after the on-line global study program. On-line global study program includes mainly following four activities ①Comparative study on Japan and selected countries,② Lectures and discussions by young professors, graduates, and seniors with study abroad experiences,③On-line tour on campus, lab and companies on selected countries,④ On-line students exchange with selected countries
1) Actively participate in program to relate with student's own clear plan.
2) Participate in students exchange activities and discuss with people from different countries, languages, customs and cultures with diverse perspectives
3) To be able to explain general information about selected countries, such as their history and culture. Positively act to deepen the learning on selected countries to make references for his/her own study-abroad and career plan.

The course is composed of following activities
1)Create future plan which includes study abroad and global career goals before and after the on-line global study program.
2)Conduct comparative studies with information and data collection about Japan and selected countries related to higher education and career (i.e. education system, STEM education, and others)
3)Submit assignment related to future of his/her career in relation to interested field.
4)Lectures and discussions by young professors, graduates, and seniors with study abroad experiences (about study abroad experience, current job, skills necessary for future society taking consideration of post COVID-19 world)
5)On-line tour on campus, lab and companies as well as students exchange on selected countries
6)Submit final report (about on-line global training, career and life plan)
7)Final presentation session
