This course aims to deepen students' understanding of the actual systems of Japanese companies and industries through a series of lectures given by professional company staff and study tours.
Japanese company engineers or administrators will give six lectures on Ookayama campus regarding working environment, company culture and required communication/language skills. Study tour visits to the Shibuya Incineration Plant, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) Tsukuba Space Center, and a factory in Kanto area are scheduled.
Attendance is required at the briefing session (at the beginning of the course), at all study tours and at least three lectures.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. deepen their understanding on the Japanese industrial and social system
2. understand the working environment, company culture and required communication/language skills of several companies in Japan
3. understand the actual technical systems of Japanese companies and public organizations

This course consists of three study tours and six lectures.
