Course description and aims

There are various fields regarding design such as graphic, editorial, product, space, service and communication. In fact, we must "design" every moment in daily life. In this circumstance, consciousness of the social environment surrounding users is relevant.
With this viewpoint, this course encourages students to think about design in an enthusiastic manner.

This course is divided into two phases: 1. Finding problems through lectures and fieldwork. 2. Criticizing presentations of proposals.

Class 1 Relationship between design and the media Analyzing some media, thinking of how it was designed in the past and what is the background of design.
Class 2 Observation on design Observing various designs and find their features, effect and meanings. Thinking of the value of design.
Class 3 Editing of design Finding new values, sharing own ideas obtained through observations on design with others.
Class 4 Proposal for finding problems Proposing an idea obtained through observations on design.
Class 5 Approaches to solutions Thinking possibilities for solutions.
Class 6 Presentation Final presentation
