This course is for students who have already completed the beginner's level. The four-skill exercises will be conducted based on topics. The course will further introduce more pre-intermediate level vocabulary and sentence patterns. The course will help students acquire practical Japanese skills through task-oriented exercises.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) read short sentences and obtain information;
2) explain feelings and opinions in brief.

Small-group activities and presentations will be conducted in class. The instructor will share texts with students and provide in-class feedback during writing and presentation sessions. The instructor will also ensure students' learning through weekly in-class and after-class assignments, group discussion, and through information sharing with the whole class.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes each for preparing for and reviewing each class (including the time spent for assignments) by referring to textbooks and other course materials.

In order to take the final exam, students are required to:
1) have a minimum attendance of 60%;
2) deliver the presentations assigned in class.
Students must have finished Basic Japanese 4 or the equivalent level.
