This course aims to acquire
- presentation skills in Japanese and
- cross-cultural understanding
through discussion on different cultures from various point of view.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) describe their own culture and society,
2) understand the background to cultural difference,
3) give a presentation about Japanese culture and society from their point of view.

Topics change in every lesson. Every lesson contains a discussion. Classroom participation and final presentation are mandatory.

Class 5 | Students' presentation 1 | Prepare text and visual materials to demonstrate the students' home countries. |
Class 6 | Students' presentation 2 | Prepare text and visual materials to demonstrate the students' home countries. |
Class 7 | Students' presentation 3 | Prepare text and visual materials to demonstrate the students' home countries. |
Class 8 | Final presentation | Give a presentation to demonstrate an understanding of Japanese culture and society. |
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.

Assessment will be conducted based on student's presentation(30%), discussions(20%) and a final presentation(50%).
Only for international students who have completed Intermediate Japanese 4 or the equivalent level.
You must reserve your place in the class in advance using Japanese class online system (http://js.ila.titech.ac.jp/~web). You will not be allowed to attend the class without reservation.
