Course description and aims

The aim of this course is to acquire advanced academic Japanese skills. specifically, you will learn how to publish an academic paper or a dissertation, and write a grant applications as well.

By the end of this course, students will be able to aquire a advanced skill which allows you to publish an academic paper and to write a grant proposal.

Class flow

Class will be conducted with pairs or small groups. Class will start with lecture, followed by pair work. Students will make a presentation of the discussion outcome.

Class 3 The process of publication. Consider what kinds of book that you want to publish.
Class 4 The process of grant application. Discuss a feasibility of your proposal with your peer.
Class 5 Preparing a grant application. Prepare an application form most popular in your field.
Class 6 Presentation. Comment on your peer's presentation.
Class 7 Feedback. Comment on your peer's presentation.
Class 8 Feedback. Make a practical plan of the application of grant proposal.
