Course description and aims

In "Korean 1 to 4", students practice mainly on the mechanism of letters (Hangul) and pronunciation, greetings, basic conversation. This course also deals witn Korean culture and history through audio-visual materials and others. Students deepen the cross-cultural understanding and learn the social conversation skills through the year.

Student learning outcomes

1. Reading and writing Hangul (Korean Alphabet).
2. Greetings and self-introductions.
3. Verbs and adjectives, irregular verbs queries.
4. Past tense.
5. Developing basic writing and speaking skills.
6. Developing group and pair discussion skills.

Students learn the grammar with the textbook for elementary level, and confirm the contents learned on the worksheet.

Assessment criteria and methods

Results are evaluated based on the results (60%) of the final exam (and midterm exam) based on attitudes in the class, submission of tasks (40%).
