Course description and aims
Students study online course materials and attend lecture in order to learn about educational technology (Edtech) and apply the knowledge they have gained to create an online course module in a group on a topic they wish to teach to other students. English communication ability is required for this class.
Student learning outcomes
Students will learn about educational technology i.e. online learning (MOOCs, online courses) by studying online learning materials and apply their knowledge in order to create an online learning module using the open edX content/learning management system.

Class flow
Students will study the materials online and complete homework assignments. The last class will consist of online student presentations on their education module, created as final group project. Adjustments will be made to the class flow if needed to coordinate group work.

Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring online course material.
Textbook(s)
From April until June, a separate course website will be available that contains the instructional materials. The instructor will share the website with registered students by email.
Reference books, course materials, etc.
Materials will be provided by the instructors.
Assessment criteria and methods
25% online material including quizzes, 25% online discussion board/homework, 50% development and presentation of original online course module

Knowledge about online learning education technology and experience with MOOCs is helpful but not required. English conversational ability is required for this course.
