Course description and aims

This course is a practical communication education through impro (improvisational theater). Impro is a form of theater in which players create scenes and stories together without a script or setting. It is also used in school education and corporate training to enhance teamwork, communication, and creativity. Students will enjoy impro creation and expression with their peers. In addition, students will read a book related to impro and write a book report to connect the impro knowledge to themselves and society.
The aim is to acquire practical, improvisational and physical communication skills and learn the basic concepts of impro.

Class flow

Classes will be conducted in a workshop style.
Impro workshop: Through impro games and activities, students will learn by moving their minds and bodies and interacting with each other.
Book report: Students will read, summarize, and share a book related to impro.

Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
