Course description and aims
In this lecture, we would like to deepen our thoughts on what "life" is by considering the relationship between myself and others, and between consciousness and unconsciousness.
This lecture will consist of two parts.
One is lecture by Eisuke Wakamatsu. At the lecture, we will read carefully "The Connection between Life and Death" of Hayao Kawai who is representative Jung psychology researcher, a great clinician and thinker,
Another lecture is "Introduction to Jung Psychology" by Shinichiro Ohtsuka who is Jung psychology researcher, clinician and translator of several books written by Jung.
The mid-term and final report will be about 2000 characters each.
I strongly encourage students to attend classes with sincere and independent participation.
＊Basically this seminar will held by pre-recorded contents and papers. Not by Zoom
＊Those contents will be uploaded though OCW-i.
＊Question will be accept through website which would be told later.
＊Answer will be had in the next or later lecture.
＊Now we stand historical turning point. Hopefully, this seminar would have some clue and wisdom to survive through this crisis.
Student learning outcomes
The objective of this course is to acquire the following abilities.
1) Consider the relationship between "self" and "others".
2) Discuss, consider, and make presentations on the "conscious" and "unconscious" functions.
3) Gain a starting point for linguistic expressions based on one's own experiences and emotions.

Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Possibly Two works by Hayao Kawai, "Introduction to Jung Psychology" and "The Connection between Life and Death" (Iwanami Genbunko) shall be had these two books for the lecture.
