Course description and aims

Students in this course will learn the basic thinking of media theories, centered on sociology, along with the history of media and cases in Japan. The aim is that students will be able to use such information to analyze various issues related to modern media and society.

Student learning outcomes

Students will be able to
1.) explain the basic theories of media study.
2.) explain the history of media incidents, features, and the process of developing, mainly Japan society.
3.) analyze recent media incidents based on the media study and media history.
