This course is a project based learning which introducing writing a research proposal, creating academic articles, and having individual presentations and group presentations. The purpose of the course is aimed at improving academic performance and capabilities necessary for writing a doctoral thesis through group activities. At the same time, it is aimed at in the following four points: 1) familiarising with various areas of social scienced and humanities other than your own; 2) understanding general features of research methodology and the particularity of each specific areas; 3) broadening your own research area; and 4) enhancing leadership to younger generations.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:

At the beginning of the course, students are required to submit a research proposal. Register for the course at the earliest time so that you can obtain the announcement on the way of submission and its deadline. At the end of the course, you are also required to actively participate in all sessions of the presentation meeting by making questions and comments upon the presentations. Those students who have not acted as a moderator are possibly asked to take up the role.

Class 2 | Find out the 'keys' to pass a peer-review process of academic articles through literature research. Learn and acquire research methodology, including newly exploring other various research methods that are required for research in social sciences and humanities (such as experiments, survey, interview, action research, simulation, statistical analysis, qualitative research), so that they could contribute to your own research. | Practice of each method |
Class 3 | Self-evaluation on your academic performance (i.e., progress of research) by comparing with the research proposal. Write the final report in which the causes of success and failure and the improvement policy shall be included. Based on that report, students are required to such activities as presentations, discussions, and reflections. | Submit the final report and revise it. |
