[Description] First, the overall flow of chemical process synthesis is outlined. Secondly, the respective steps in the flow, namely, creation of process design, syntheses of procedure and network of operations, and integration of operations and streams are explained. In addition, various examples of chemical processes are introduced- mainly processes for development are presented.
[Aims] Students acquire the basics of the process synthesis stage, which is one of the most important steps in chemical process development. From the various examples, they can also get to know how the conditions mentioned above are taken into consideration in chemical process syntheses, in order to deepen their understanding of process synthesis for development.
When completing this course, students should be able to synthesize preliminary designs of chemical processes for sustainable development within given conditions such as global and regional environment, energy, and other regional characteristics.
