Advanced Reaction Process Engineering deals with the fundamentals and applications of chemical reaction engineering.
Students understand the outline of chemical reaction processes from raw materials such as fossil and renewable resources to synthesis of basic chemicals (raw materials for chemical products) and synthesis of fine chemicals, and the fundamentals of reactors. First, students will learn the application of reactors and reaction operations. Students will understand semi-batch operations, connection of reactors, and recycling systems. Next, students will focus on the types of reactions ( complex reactions, exothermic reactions, and solid catalytic reactions), and learn the appropriate reactors and reactor design for each reaction.
By taking this course, students will acquire the following knowledge and abilities.
1) Role of chemical reaction engineering in chemical processes
2) Fundamentals of chemical reaction engineering and reactor typesshape
3) Concentration changes of reactants in a reactor
4) Selection of suitable reactors for various reaction systems and basic equations for reactor design
5) Reaction phenomena and catalyst degradation in porous solid catalysts
Chemical reaction engineering, reaction rate analysis, diffusion and reaction, solid catalyst, effectiveness factor, catalyst deactivation phenomena

Required learning should be completed outside of the classroom for preparation and review purpose.
In every class, a summary of the previous lecture is given.
Towards the end of each class, students are required to solve exercise problems related to the material covered in the class.
