Students will complete an internship at a Japanese or foreign university, research institute, or company to gain practical experience and to understand academic integrity. At the end of their internship, students will give presentations on their experiences, to improve their communication skills.

Students will complete an internship (more than about 5 days (40 hours)) at a Japanese or foreign university, research institute, or company to gain practical experience and to understand academic integrity. At the end of their internship, students will make a report on the achievement.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend a certain length of time outside of class on preparation and review (including for assignments), as specified by the Tokyo Institute of Technology Rules on Undergraduate Learning (東京工業大学学修規程) and the Tokyo Institute of Technology Rules on Graduate Learning (東京工業大学大学院学修規程), for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Students are required to make a report on the achievement of the internship, and submit it to the course head via his/her supervisor. The course head will evaluate the report, and make an announcement at the course meeting.
Students are required to make a plan of internship describing the detailed content of the internship, and submit it to the course head via his/her supervisor. The course meeting will judge the acceptance of the students' offer. Noted that the content of the internship should be related to civil engineering only.
