This course focuses on traffic and transport systems, and covers the fundamental theories and analytical models on travel behaviour, transport network equilibrium and traffic flows. This course explains how these theories are applied to describe traffic and transport through exercise and reports
The mathematical approach is essential for systems analysis in traffic and transport engineering, and applicable to transport planning and management. This course facilitates students' comprehensive ability to find useful solutions for actual traffic and transport problems.
When students complete this course, they will be able to:
1) understand the systems approach for traffic and transport problems,
2) understand fundamental mathematical methods in traffic engineering and transport planning,
3) obtain creative ability through practical application examples.
systems analysis, travel behaviour, transport network, traffic flow, travel demand, transport planning, traffic and transport management
✔ Specialist skills | Intercultural skills | Communication skills | Critical thinking skills | Practical and/or problem-solving skills |
While teaching theoretical foundations of transportation systems, small tests will also be conducted. Further, the final exam will also be carried out.
