This course consists of lectures and site visits if possible led by engineers invited as part-time lecturers. All lecturers are professional engineers successful in civil engineering and environmental fields of planning, roads, hazard prevention, international projects, railroads, harbors and rivers, respectively.
Civil and environmental engineering is an integrated academic field, which consists of a lot of knowledge and skills obtained only from on-site experience. It is therefore expected that successful engineers will provide students with knowledge of contemporary subjects and skills for practical problem-solving. This course will also increase students' desire to study and provide an opportunity to consider their view of the profession.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Obtain knowledge on contemporary subjects in civil and environmental engineering.
2. Increase problem-solving skills by learning practical examples.
3. Increase their desire for self study.
4. Consider their view of the profession.
