This course discusses the particular characteristics of traditional Japanese architecture, with students seeing firsthand national treasures and important cultural properties in the Kinki region. Architectural history is one of the oldest fields of architecture and building engineering. For the students in this field, who are expected to have bright futures as international architects and architectural engineers, it is required that they correctly understand the architectural culture of their own country.
The aim of this course is to deepen students' understandings on the characteristics of traditional Japanese architecture through visiting many important cultural properties in Kinki region.

This is an intensive course. The participants of this course are required to attend two days lectures and 6days tour to earn a credit.
