This course teaches methods for planning, execution, and presentation of research in computing as well as skills for science communication and career development. Students should acquire methodologies for setting research goals, planning and conducting research, and evaluation through the presentation of their work and class discussion. Also, the students will learn writing skills of research proposals and research papers. This lecture will also foster interdisciplinary and English communication ability through discussions across different research fields, and inter-cultural experience with international students. Through interaction with different disciplines and cultures, the lecture provides students with occasions to think of the impact of their research contribution to the society and to consider their future career.
