Course description and aims

[Summary of the lecture] In this lecture, outline of safety in chemical research, the basic policy for balancing chemical experiments and environmental protection, risk management, management of reagents and high pressure gases, fire extinguishing, and administration of first aid will be explained.
[Aim of the lecture] In chemical research, not only technical methods but also effective safety measures to prevent accidents by risk management are important. Moreover, it is also important to secure own health and safety by knowing laws related to safety and environment and to acquire morals of chemists such as prevention of environmental load. Correct managements of chemical reagents and high pressure gases are important for safe experiments. In case of emergency, it is necessary to respond fire rapidly and correctly. In Furthermore, the ability to perform appropriate first aid procedures is required.
