[Summary of the lecture] In this lecture, electron transfer reactions, various voltammetries, electrochemical and chemical reactions on electrode and relation of electrocatalysis to potential will be explained.
[Aim of the lecture] The aims are to study various electrochemical devises to be typical of cells and to understand complicated electrochemistry mixing chemical and electrochemical reactions in cell and electrosynthesis.
By the end of this course, students acquire the following ability:
(1) Ability to understand variuous electrochemical system.
(2) Ability to understand surface reactions on electrode.
(3) Ability to understand cyclic voltammetry and rotating disk electrode voltammetry.
(4) Ability to understand electrochemistry in cells, fuel cell, photovoltaic cell, electrosynthesis.

This lecture will proceed in the following order: (1) various cell reaction and structure, (2) theory and procedure of cyclic voltammetry and rotating disk electrode voltammetry, (3) rule of electrode reaction and surface reaction, (4) rule of fuel cell and solid electrolyte, (5) electrochemical reactions in photovoltaic cell and electrosynthesis. In the last lecture, practice problems and interpretation of them will be carried out to confirm the level of understanding.
