[Summary of the course] This course focuses on the cutting-edge research on greenhouse gases emitted from agriculture. Methodology and the latest outcome are demonstrated with regard to evaluation of emission and production mechanisms of greenhouse gases derived from soil organics and fertilizers, development of mitigation technologies, and social implementation.
[Aim of the course] It is essential for students in applied chemistry to understand the natural cycles of environmental chemical substances and perturbation by human beings. It is also useful to learn cutting-edge technologies used in environmental chemistry and geochemistry. The purpose of this course is students find the relation between their own doctoral research projects and environmental problems/analytical techniques.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Explain the effects of agriculture on global warming
2) Explain the production processes of greenhouse gases in agricutlure
3) Acquire the knowledge of some cutting-edge technologies for greenhouse gas analysis
