[Summary of the lecture] In this lecture, organofluorine compounds are taught as promising drugs and materials. Electronic and steric effects of organofluorine compounds and metalorganofluorine compounds will be explained.
[Aim of the lecture] The organofluorine chemistry is extremely important in not only laboratory organic synthesis but also
industrial organic synthesis. In this lecture, various electronic and steric effects of organofluorine compounds and metal reagents will also be
introduced. Finally, students acquire the ability to design brand-new organofluorine compounds as promising drugs and materials.
By the end of this course, students acquire the following ability to:
(1) design organofluorine compounds as promising drugs and materials.
(2) explain electronic and steric effects of organofluorine compounds and metalorganofluorine compounds
organofluorine compounds, electronic effect, steric effect, mimic effect, reaction mechanism, metalorganofluorine chemistry, fluorous chemistry
✔ Specialist skills | Intercultural skills | Communication skills | Critical thinking skills | ✔ Practical and/or problem-solving skills |
This lecture will proceed in the following order: electronic and steric effects, reaction mechanism, metalorganofluorine chemistry, fluorous chemistry. In the last day, practice problems and interpretation of them will be carried out to confirm the level of understanding.
