This course provides an overview of electronics. Fundamentals and relationship between them in electromagnetism, electrical circuits, semiconductor engineering, electronic circuits, computer, integrated circuits, and wireless communication system are overviewed.
The course aims to overview basic and electronic engineering and current electric devices and systems. In particular, usefulness of complex representation in electronic circuits, basic phenomena and nature of solid-state and semiconductor, principle of computer, technology of integrated circuits, and basic principle of wireless communication system are shown.
At the end of this course, students will be able to acquire the following ability.
1) Explain fundamentals and relationship between electrical and electronic engineering.
2) Derive the transient response and frequency characteristics in electric and electronic circuits.
3) Have basic knowledge of operating principle and characteristics in solid-state and semiconductor devices.
4) Have basic knowledge of construction of computer and integrated circuits to realize it.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
Course materials can be found on OCW-i.
Students' course scores are conducted based on the due reports (40%) and final examination (60%).
No prerequisite, however, review of physics and mathematics is highly recommended.
