In order to study on the structure and properties of crystalline polymer, it is essential to acquire the ability to analyze the structure and properties by using various analytical methods. This course focuses on the small-angle X-ray scattering that is essential technique to characterize the structure and properties of crystalline polymer. This course also focuses on the tensor that is important for characterization of physical properties of anisotropic materials, and exercise problems related to tensor calculation are given and explained. Topics include the evaluation method of molecular mobility of polymer by pulse NMR and the properties of particle-filled polymer composites.
At the end of this course, student will be able to:
1) Have a fundamental understanding of small-angle X-ray scattering that is essential technique to characterize the structure and properties of crystalline polymer.
2) Have an understanding of tensor that is important for characterization of physical properties of anisotropic materials, and carry out tensor calculation such as coordinate transformation of tensor.
