The students gain the knowledge in their research fields and skills of logical thinking and research presentations through the colloquium and presentations in their research groups. In addition, the students learn the way to choose the theme of the thesis, to conduct a research and to summarize the results.
Sometimes the group seminars to share students' research progress are held by supervisor(s).

It depends on the research group. In general, a presenter introduces a research paper in his/her research field or a chapter of a textbook. The audience asks questions and gives comments on that.
