Course description and aims

Lecture on the basic technology to deal with information about a disease and health appropriately and put on the knowledge needed the engineer who builds the system to deal with medical information.
To learn information processing in the medical field, overall technology and knowledge are needed. So we learn information processing technology of hardware, software and network technology, the sense of ethics which it's needed when treating medical information, information protection technology and standardization of the medical information.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Acquire knowledge related to the medical information systems systematically.
2) Understand the practical use and application of the medical information sysytem and future subject.

Assessment criteria and methods

Students will be assessed on their understanding of the medical information systems, the current situation and the present issues of healthcare IT.
Students’ course scores are based on class reports (50%) and final report (50%).
