This course offers knowledge on mechatronics technology including mechanics, electronics and computer software. Firstly definition and applications of mechatronics will be explained. The elements of mechatronics technology including mechanics (mechanical elements and mechanisms), functional elements (actuators and sensors), electronic circuits and microcomputers (hardware and software) will then be explained. Finally case studies of applications of mechatronics technology such as robots will be taught.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

Students' understandings of mechatronics systems and their elements and ability to design fundamental mechatronics systems are accessed via several practices (50%) and endterm examination (50%).
