This course facilitates students’ ability to study how to investigate for given topics and demonstrate their opinions for debating on them as well as to take an interest in international research and development activities and ethics for researchers and engineers. The course aims at supporting students’ independent and motivated study with awareness of various issues and intellectual curiosity.
At the end of this course, students will:
- Understand advanced research and development activities, and
- Be able to investigate on given topics and debate on them.

In the first two classes, advanced research and development actives are introduced. The remainder will be spent for debates on given topics.

Students will be assessed on their understanding of the talks on advanced research and development activities and their efforts for debates. Students’ course scores are based on assignments on the talks (20%) and those on debates (80%).
No prerequisites are necessary.
