To deepen the understanding of structural features of organic compounds, students will learn basics and applications of chemical bonding, stereochemistry, aromaticity, and supramolecular chemistry in this course. Concepts of structures and properties required for advanced researches will be explained with introducing theoretical background and concrete examples.
Students will learn the following skills from taking this course
1) be able to understand the nature of chemical bonding based on molecular orbital theory.
2) be able to apply fundamental concepts of stereochemistry to concrete examples.
3) be able to understand concepts and evaluation methods of aromaticity.
4) be able to understand intermolecular interactions and their analysis.
5) be able to understand the method of construction of hollow structures and their properties.
