Course description and aims

This course supports students in understanding the contents of "Organic Chemistry I" in the same quarter of the same Academic year.

Solving exercise problems, drawing organic structures and reaction mechanisms with curly arrows help students understand organic chemistry in detail. Therefore, this course provides the opportunity for students to draw organic molecules by hand as much as possible and supports their better understanding of basic organic chemistry.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Explain basic concepts of bonding, structures, and acid-base of organic compounds.
2) Draw reasonable structure, reaction, and resonance formulas of organic compounds.
3) Explain types and features of basic organic reactions.

Class flow

In the first 20 minutes, the lecturer shows solutions for homework, and subsequently teaches main topics according to the course schedule. Then, students solve several exercise problems. In the last 10 minutes, commentary to the solution guide for the exercise problems is provided.
