講義の概要とねらい
この授業はTOEFLをまったく知らないあるいは受験したことがない学生向けのTOEFL入門の授業である。英語の四技能のうち、特に聴解力と発話力の基礎力を磨きながら、TOEFLのテスト形式になれることを目指す。また短期留学に必要な基礎的な語彙を学ぶ。
到達目標
T・TOEFLの出題形式や内容に親しむこと。
・クラス内でのペアワークやグループワークを通して聴解力と発話力の向上させること。
・短いスピーチや会話を聴き、要点を理解したうえでその要点を短文で要約し英語を使って表現することができること。

授業の進め方
We will practise the skills needed to succeed at the six questions in the speaking section of the TOEFL iBT. We will work through the first 4 chapters of the textbook with plenty of time for question and answer, structured and free practice. Students are encouraged to bring a recorder, such as a voice recorder on their phone, so that they can listen to themselves and hear their improvements over the course.

成績評価の基準及び方法
Assessment will be 80 percent on a TOEFL style question and 20 percent on effort/participation in class.
