By forming a multicultural group composed of Japanese and International students, through lectures and self-pace learning by SPOCs, students will 1) deepen the knowledge about traditional technology taking steel making as specific example, and 2) proceed with intercultural co-learning.
1. Students will conduct research on traditional technology of home country, including its historical, cultural and social background.
2. Students will conduct multicultural group work in order to equip with skills related to intercultural co-learning.
3. By understand traditional technology of home country and taking Japanese Iron made through Tatara Iron Making method as specific example, students will make proposal to revival and development of traditional technology of their home countries with global perspective.

The course will be composed of following;
１．Lecture and self-pace learing by SPOCs, Research and information sharing about traditional technology of home country.
２．On-site workshop on 1) Tatara Iron Making, 2) Sword smith (papar knife making), and 3) Japanese sword appreciation
３．Group proposal presentation on reviral and development of traditional technology
４． Individual report about specific proposal and development of PR contents.
*Aforementioned activities may be conducted partly on-line.

1.Students who wish to enroll/participate in this course should have English proficiency (TOEIC score 750 or above, TOEFL-iBT score 80 or above), so that he/she will be able understand the lectures and actively participate in discussions.
2.Students should have interest on Japanese traditional technology (Tatara Iron Making) and its product (Japanese Iron).

Due to the limitation on number of participants, if the registration have reached more than the maximum limit, the selection may be made based on the credits received for the completion of GSEC course.
For the preparation of group work and practical training, students should complete course registration by Thursday, 15th October.
