This course (muscular training) facilitates students' ability of basic skills in movements of weight training and movements of daily life. The training includes sit-ups, back stretching, push-ups, squat and arm curl in addition to several training events each student picks up at home. We train about three times a week, including the class, and reflect on the training in class. Beginners are welcome.
Students will be able to :
(1) acquire correct forms of muscular training.,
(2) regularly engage in exercise by him/herself, in order to maintain good condition,
(3) understand basics of muscular training.

Students will be assessed by the commitment sore, the practice score, the understanding (comprehension) score, and the task (homework) score.

You must prepare the necessary attire on your own. You are expected to participate at home or elsewhere, but you are required to wear attire suitable for exercise (no shoes required, jeans and sweater are not allowed) .
Instead of dumbbells, we will be making weights using PET bottles, so you will need two to six 2-liter bottles, duct tape, and string. The bottle can be used before or after use, while a lid is necessary since it contains water.
You can buy dumbbells or water-filled dumbbells at a 100-yen store. You will need to adjust the weight depending on what kind of movement you will do. I recommend that you purchase them, if you like, after attending the first class.
