Course description and aims

This is a project based blended learning course where students study online (edX) course materials relating to educational video planning, production and editing individually then complete group work on an educational topic. Up to 15 students may enroll and define an educational video project they wish to undertake in consultation with the instructor. Besides the first and second classroom lectures, learning will be derived from studying online materials, attending video making workshop, individual/group work directly related to video creation and editing using Adobe Premier software. This course will be supported by Tokyo Tech Online Educational Development Office (OEDO) and periodically may make use of its facilities. A high level of English communication ability is required for this class equivalent to 800 points or higher on the TOEIC exam. The course grade evaluation will be based upon assessment of a 3 min video at the end of the term, PowerPoint oral presentation on it and group work contribution/peer assessment.

Advanced English ability required, familiar with online learning (MOOCs, SPOC), video shooting and video editing software helpful, ability to work in a group to create an educational video. Fill out course survey prior to attend the first class.

Course will use online learning material to learn about video creation. Course enrolment is limited to 15 students max due to group work component. If more than 15 students enrol applicants will be chosen on ability to preform in the course, English ability, and motivation to take attend the course. The class is supported by the Tokyo Tech Online Education Development Office.
