Course description and aims

As a training course of the Academic Leaders Program (ALP) primarily targeted at D1 and D2 students, this course will focus on the presentation skill at every opportunity for future scientists and professionals working either in academia or industry. As a first step to achieve the goal, the course will drill the presentation skills to non-specialists or general public.

As a scientist, the first and important requirement should be the good scientific achievement, but how to present the achievement effectively is the next important but not well-recognized skill. The easiest case of the presentation would be the presentation to the professionals of the same field. But it is often the case that we have to explain the importance or the value of the research to the general public. It is not an easy matter. Students will be guided how to make themselves understood clearly.
