Course description and aims

As a training course of the Academic Leaders Program (ALP) primarily directed at D1 and D2 students, participants will learn best practices for the creation and implementation of teaching materials and methods through class work and TA training. Participants will also be given an introduction to the Preparing Future Faculty (PFP) training program. Last, in order to improve participant’s ability to teach in English, participation in model English lectures will be offered.
We mainly target D1 and D2 students, they become able to put on a literacy necessary to education of the academic field beforehand by this lecture attendance.
In addition, this lecture is also available in English only if TA is conducted in English.

Student learning outcomes

For graduate students, on the basis of educational considerations, to learn about teaching best practices. Specifically, general guidance and discussions on the Code of Ethics for TAs, tutors, and other teachers, as well as, as part of the PFP preparatory education for future faculty, methods to increase teaching proficiency in English.

Class flow

Lectures will be held twice during the same semester. Note) That is, the first and second times and the third & fourth times have the same contents. Therefore, if you attend one of the lectures of the convenient one once you submit the assignment, you will meet the course requirements.
Therefore, after the end of each semester, the results are evaluated taking into consideration the corresponding 2Q activities.
