Course description and aims

This course will cover mainly technology management issues in the industry, however R&D activity in academic arena is also considered. Technology management is discussed from the viewpoints of role of technology in the value creation process and the various practical management processes such as strategy, management process and humanresourse management.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students understnad the value creation process, the difference between R&D management and technplogy management, various methodologie and processes of technology management.The major issues will be technology startegy, R&D theme management processes, R&D human resource management, road map, business model innovation, marketing in R&D and the concept of open innovation etc.

Class 4 R&D theme management; Way of thinking about R&D theme management and its reality in the company, Various methodologies of R&D theme management such as Stage-Gate method are discussed. Idea creation on "Un-solved market issue"
Class 5 Human resource management in the tehcnology management; Way of thinking about human resource management in the R&D activity, Importance of motivation management,Dual ladder system, Meaning of doctor in the comapny, Various capabilities required to the researcher and the engineer. Recognition about the importance and selfevaluation of the required capability & quality.
