Course description and aims

This is a follow up class of “Introduction to the Teaching Profession (A & B)”. On the basis of the history and the philosophy of education, we review what education is and what schools is.
In addition, we examine the role of education in Japan in order to help making global leaders of teaching profession,

To master the basic ideas and knowledge of pedagogy.
To be able to have a unique view of teacher education and the educaional problems in the 21st century.

20% motivation judged by the class room activities, 80% term paper score.
The details of the term paper topic will be announced later on OCW.
