Course description and aims

We will learn Japanese culture areas through language, arts, music, and several plays of children. We will discuss some uniqueness of Japanese culture from the viewpoint of international students. By means of culture study, we will learn the introduction of the Japanese language as well.

Student learning outcomes

You will find some Japanese cultures which you have not noticed before taking this class. You will be interested in things Japanese. You will acquire the introduction parts of Japanese language knowledge as well through this culture course.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.

Assessment criteria and methods

This class will judge your credit with a pass or fail.
Students must present all the class activities. No latecomer can participate in this class.
All of the presentations, reports, participation, and visiting activities are required.
Students who miss any of the above requirements cannot obtain any credits.
Dictation task as a daily homework (Dictation for Every day: D4E) is mandatory.
There will be daily sub-reports and a final report.
Each report must contain sufficient content to pass.
