Course description and aims

The aim of this course is to help students learn the skills required for job hunting in Japan, which are:
- how to conduct self-analysis;
- how to draw up their entry sheet properly in Japanese;
- how to express their opinions in Japanese at individual interviews and group discussions.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) draw up their entry sheet properly in Japanese;
2) briefly explain their research in Japanese;
3) understand how to participate in group discussions.

Class flow

In every lesson, one or two students will be assigned to summarize the topics chosen from a monthly journal. Exercises will be conducted on vocabulary and grammar appeared in the materials.
This course will be held weekly through live classes on Zoom. The instructor will provide the in-class feedback during writing and presentation sessions sharing texts. The instructor will ensure students' learning through weekly in-class and after-class assignments, group discussion, and whole group share.
Students will focus on task activities in the classroom.

Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Assessment criteria and methods

Assessment will be conducted based on students' attendance(28%), assignment(12%), practice of individual interview(20%),and self-appeal selfie recording(20%) / entry sheet(20%) drawn up at the end of the course.
