Course description and aims

This Japanese language course is designed for the students who awarded scholarship by the Ministry. The regular students may apply for this course only if the seats are available.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:1) Handle the basic daily conversation 2) Read and write Hiragana, Katakana and basic Kanji (50)

Class flow

The 4-skill exercises are carried out based on topics. The tasks are focused in the class.

Course schedule/Required learning

Class 1 There are 3-hour intensive classes held every day from Monday to Friday in the morning. This course covers the regular Beginner 1 and 2 in 7 weeks. (The daily class schedule, including test dates will be provided for the intensive students.) The homework and previous study requires 100 minutes a day at least.

Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
