1. The aim of this course is develop students' ability to write opinion essays and explanatory texts.
2. Group learning sessions including grammar correction will be conducted during the class.
3. Students are expected to exchange their essays with other students in Japan and overseas by online activities (sakubun.org).
4. Students are also expected to acquire the ability to write presentation slides in Japanese.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. write simple sentences expressing their thoughts by overcoming their weak points in writing;
2. set a theme and make an outline;
3. think logically through writing;
4. learn how to write presentation slides and present them in class in Japanese.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes each for preparing for and reviewing each class (including the time spent for assignments) by referring to textbooks and other course materials.

Students are required to attend more than 70% (mandatory) of the scheduled classes and to achieve a score of 60 or above to pass the course based on the following criteria: discussion (20%) , essay(40%), and presentation(40%).
Only for international students who have completed Intermediate Japanese 4 or the equivalent level.
You must reserve your place in the class in advance using Japanese class online system (http://js.ila.titech.ac.jp/~web). You will not be allowed to attend the class without reservation.
