This course is for the students who have finished Topic Oriented Japanese 15 (or those who have studied about 150 kanji). Students will learn basic Kanji which we frequently use in daily life as well as for campus life. The course aims to acquire further knowledge of Kanji system and recognition skills of Kanji by doing class activities.
By the end of this course, students will be able to
1) pronounce and understand various Kanji combination words at the elementary level.
2) expand their vocabulary.

Students will learn 18 new kanji in each class. Class activities will be offered to acquire the knowledge of kanji and the skills for its usage. The instructor will assign homework in each lecture. Students must take an examination in the final class.

Only for international students who have the ability of Japanese language at the elementary level with about 150 kanji can attend this course. Applicants who have not passed TOJ15 have to take a Kanji level check test.
