Course description and aims

The aims of this course is to acquire the basic knowledge of Japanese culture, to discuss what is culture, and to summarize them as a final report.

Student learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:1) enjoy and appreciate Japanese culture, 2) explain original aspects of Japanese culture, 3) write some essays about Japanese culture as a final report.

Class flow

Topics change every lesson. Every lesson contains examples and questions for group discussions. Attendance is taken in every class. A final report is the most essential.

Class 7 Nursery rhyme Describe the characteristics of Japanese nursery rhyme.
Class 8 Writing a final report about Japanese culture Write your impression of Japanese when you heard Japanese for the first time.
