Course description and aims

This course develops the basic grammar which is learned in Russian: Basic Course3. It introduces basic Russian language and Russian culture.
The course focuses on learning vocabulary and basic grammar. Students will also acquire basic skills for oral communication and writing.

In the end of this course students will be able to:
1) read and pronounce Russian 2) understand some grammar topics 3) communicate in basic phrases

Class flow

At the beginning of the class, the instructor explain words, phrases and grammar. Using the text book, students practice grammer, conversation and writing skills of Russian.

Class 1 The course schedule will be determined through discussions held among students and the instructor. Learn vocabulary and basic grammar.

Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Assessment criteria and methods

Students will be assessed on the exam (50%) and their understanding and participation in classes(50%).
