Course description and aims

This Course is designsed primarily for the students who are interested in Germany. Students read varrious German texts which are concerned with German
culture, society, history, technology, literature etc. .
In this course students will be able to read the high-level German texts and they will be able to understand the German people and life and their mentality.

In the end of this course, students will be able to
1) read high-level German texts. 2) understand the German people and life and their mentality widely.

Class flow

In every class students read and translate the text. Students are requested to prepare for lessons.

Out-of-Class Study Time (Preparation and Review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

The instructor will indicate during class.

Reference books, course materials, etc.

German-Japanese dictionary is necessary.

Assessment criteria and methods

Students will be assessed on their exercises (translate, understand and read) and test during classes.
