Course description and aims

This Advanced Course is primarily designed for the students who have completed Basic and Intermediate Course. By reading various German texts and by combining reading and exercises, the students study German grammar more deeply. At the same time the instructor links the learning of grammar to the communicative skills,
In this course the students will be able to progress in German variously. In addition they will be able to deepen the knowledge of Germany.

In the end of this course, the students will be able to
1) read high-level German texts. 2) understand German grammar more structurally. 3) deepen the knowledge of Germany.

Class flow

In every class students read and translate the text and then they solve exercise problems related to the text. The instructor explain the text and problems.
Students are requested to prepare.

A German-Japanese dictionary is necessary in every class.

Assessment criteria and methods

The scores are based on exercises in classes (40%) and translations of texts from German into Japanese (60%) .

Students are required to have the elementary knowledge of German grammar and ability to read simple german sentences. For the participants it is desirable to have completed the "German: Basic Course 1-4" and "Intermediate Course.
