講義の概要とねらい
「英語プレゼンテーション演習」のコースはすべて、学生が自信をもって効果的なプレゼンテーションをおこなうための技能を修得することを目的とする。実践に重点をおくコースであるため、学生は学期中に複数のプレゼンテーションをおこなう。また、よい質問の仕方や積極的な聞き手になる方法を学び、リスニングの力を向上させる。
100番台の選択科目として、「英語プレゼンテーション演習第三」では、優れた構成のグループ・プレゼンテーションをおこなうための基礎力を養うことを目指す。
到達目標
コース終了時には、学生は授業で学んだ技能や知識を活用して、グループによるプレゼンテーションをおこない、質疑応答をこなすことができる。

| This course will be taught by a bilingual journalist who has been reporting and writing in both English and Japanese on a wide range of issues for a variety of publications. Throughout the course, the instructor will use her knowledge and expertise in the art of storytelling, to help students acquire communication skills that are necessary for presenting ideas effectively and clearly in English to people from culturally diverse backgrounds. |

授業の進め方
The class is highly interactive. Each week, we will explore a different presentation technique using audio lectures, readings, and discussion. Students are expected to complete all readings and come to class prepared for discussion. Students will receive instructor feedback and peer review for their presentations. By the end of the course, students are expected to be more confident and comfortable about delivering a presentation in English.

| 第4回 | Presentation (practice) | Each student will deliver a shorter presentation on a given topic. Students are also asked to evaluate their own performances. |

| 第6回 | Presentation (Group A) | Students assigned to Group A will deliver a presentation on a given topic. |

授業時間外学修（予習・復習等）
学修効果を上げるため，教科書や配布資料等の該当箇所を参照し，「毎授業」授業内容に関する予習と復習（課題含む）をそれぞれ概ね100分を目安に行うこと。

成績評価の基準及び方法
The grade for the quarter will be determined as follows:
Class participation: 50% (Evaluation will be based on attitude, contribution, improvement, and a willingness to learn.)
Presentation: 50%
